High-performance M TwinPower Turbo V8-cylinder petrol engine.
The latest version of the M TwinPower Turbo V8‑cylinder petrol engine guarantees performance in keeping with the latest standards. The high‑revving unit develops an output of 460 kW. The two turbochargers stand out thanks to their cross‑cylinder bank exhaust manifold with optimum response characteristics. The V8 engine is also designed for extreme loads on the race track.
M xDrive.
M xDrive with Active M Differential guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear‑wheel drive with the control of an all‑wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC‑off mode – 2WD.
M Carbon ceramic brake.
The M Carbon ceramic brake[1] delivers braking power even more directly. The brake is non‑corrosive and tolerates even more heat. It impresses with extremely minimal wear and contributes to a lower vehicle weight, which has a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The special technical equipment is visible through calipers in the colour Gold matt with M logo on the outside.
M Carbon exterior package.
The M Carbon exterior package underlines the athletic demands of the vehicle. The side spoiler elements in the front bumper, the exterior mirror caps and the rear spoiler are made of carbon‑fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). The package is rounded off by a diffuser insert at the rear.
M Carbon bucket seats.
The M Carbon bucket seat with illuminated M8 logo combines the lightness and racing character of a bucket seat with the range of functions of an M sport seat. Its contouring offers perfect side support and excellent long distance comfort. It is compatible with multipoint harnesses and therefore fully suitable for racing.

The standard M Sport braking system has four‑piston fixed calipers at the front and single‑piston floating calipers at the rear in Black with the M designation and features large brake discs to ensure outstanding braking performance.
M sport differential.
The M sport differential optimises traction and driving stability when changing lanes or accelerating out of a bend, when taking bends at high speeds or on different road surfaces. Traction is optimised with the help of an electronically operated device that reduces the difference in revolution speed between the rear wheels.
M kidney grille and M exterior mirror.
Both the M kidney grille and the M exterior mirrors are finished in Black high‑gloss as standard. With the optional Carbon Exterior package, both parts are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) and are therefore lighter than the standard production versions.
Panorama glass roof.
When opened, the electric panoramic glass sunroof with slide and lift functions provides ample fresh air, while it creates a bright, light‑flooded atmosphere in the interior when closed. You open and close it at the touch of a button or with the vehicle key. It is equipped with a roller sunblind and a wind deflector. It also provides a continuous glass look from front to rear window.
Multifunction seats for driver and front passenger.
The Multifunction seats for driver and front passenger offer comprehensive adjustment possibilities and exceptional seating comfort and safety. Unleaded RON 91 and higher with a maximum ethanol content of 10% (E10) may also be used. BMW recommends RON 95 fuel. For high-performance automobiles, BMW recommends RON 98 fuel.

This design-related noise generation can be avoided by braking the brake dry in case of wetness or loading the brake more heavily after a long low braking load. The influence of wetness and road salt, e.g. after using car washes, dew overnight, driving in the rain, etc., the braking effect can correspond to that of a conventional braking system. This reduced braking power can be compensated for with a greater pressure on the pedal. The functional noises have no influence on the performance, operational safety and stability of the brake.
